Lincolnshire businesses come out on top on Trip Advisor
A host of popular visitor attractions and services across Lincolnshire have been named among the top 10% in Europe by Trip Advisor.
The travel review platform recently announced its Travellers’ Choice Award winners for 2022, a particularly coveted title based purely on the quality and quantity of reviews and ratings from users. Six Lincolnshire businesses have been honoured with the award this year – which celebrates the top 10% of Trip Advisor listings to have maintained incredible customer service – including the Lincoln Visitor Information Centre.
The first port of call for those arriving to explore the city, the Visitor Information Centre’s dedication to putting our visitor and resident tourism needs first is vital to our continued efforts to make Lincolnshire a Top Ten destination. And that doesn’t just go for those visiting Lincoln itself. The Centre is being used more and more as a countywide signposting hub, assisting with the drive to disperse visitors heading to Lincoln across the county to explore all the Lincolnshire has to offer, acting as the voice for tourism for the whole of Lincolnshire.
Michele Sims, Visitor Information Centre Manager, said: “The team at the Lincoln Visitor information Centre are very passionate about Lincoln and Lincolnshire, they are only too delighted to share their knowledge and help visitors get the very best out of their visit. The Travellers’ Choice award is a customer satisfaction accreditation and acknowledges this. It’s great to see so many visitor attractions in the area with this award, it raises the quality standard of the tourism offer for the area and also gives the visitor confidence and assurance of a high-quality experience.”
Richard Storey, Mayor’s Officer, City of Lincoln Council, said: “The City of Lincoln Council is delighted that Lincoln Guildhall has been awarded the Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice award for 2022. This award always feels special as it relates directly to feedback received. Knowing our visitors enjoy their experience makes us feel proud to share our story and that of the city. Lincoln is a fabulous place to visit and the various awards in the city, and across the county, are something to be proud of.”
The place go-to place for travel tips, maps and keepsakes, the Visitor Information Centre wasn’t the only one celebrating a new achievement. A whole host of Lincolnshire business, and Destination Lincolnshire partners, received news that their loyal customers had boosted them into the top 10%, including:
Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitor Centre
Cllr Bob Bushell, Portfolio Holder for Remarkable Place at City of Lincoln Council, said: “To receive a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is testament to the hard work that goes into ensuring residents and visitors alike receive a positive experience when visiting our fantastic city. Maintaining this excellent customer service in which we pride ourselves in is vital for a well-rounded experience that will not only bring in more visitors but keep them coming back.”
Cllr Lindsey Cawrey, executive councillor for cultural services at Lincolnshire County Council, said: “What I’m most proud of, is knowing that we’ve been awarded these Travellers’ Choice Awards, not by some panel of judges, but by our visitors. So many of them have been so impressed with their visit that they’ve felt compelled to leave us an excellent review, putting our sites in the top 10 per cent of listings on Trip Advisor. These awards are a glowing indictment of the passion and enthusiasm of our staff and volunteers, who truly bring the county’s culture and heritage to life at these four amazing venues. If you come along to any of our venues, please let us know about your visit through Trip Advisor or Google reviews. Your reviews help others discover fantastic days out with us and gives thanks to the staff and volunteers that do so much to make each visit extra special.”
Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at TripAdvisor, congratulated the winners for being among the ‘best in tourism and hospitality’ and for their successes in the wake of the pandemic, saying: “Ranking among the Travelers’ Choice winners is always tough — but never more so than this year as we emerge from the pandemic,” she said. “Whether it’s using new technology, implementing safety measures, or hiring outstanding staff, I’m impressed by the steps taken to meet travelers’ new demands. You’ve adapted brilliantly in the face of adversity.”
